  • Being a dance maker necessitates deploying a wide range of business skills in addition to your creative work. This workshop will take attendees through the major administrative components of building a career as a choreographer or performer—fundraising, curation vs. self-producing, working with dancers and collaborators, paying your team, grants and residencies, developing relationships with curators, basic organizational systems for success, fiscal sponsorship, and more.

Participants will leave with a list of resources, as well as basic administrative templates including a budget, database spreadsheet, project timeline and more.

  • Unfuck your workflow to regain clarity and drive. Revamp the way you work with a handful of helpful organizational systems, intuitive tactics, and strategies for getting your best you when you sit down to work! In this 1.5 hour workshop, I share my tried and true methods for breaking down a maximalist workload into an easy workflow that motivates rather than overwhelms.

Whether you want to be more organized and productive with your art practice, small business, professional life, or personal projects (or more likely, all of the above!) these systems are a great way to get everything in order and move through your weeks stress-free.

You’ll leave the workshop with a honed to-do list system (think bullet journal, but more functional and less culty) mapped out for your personal workload, strategies for mindfulness and problem solving, and intentions set for your immediate future, next few weeks, and long term hustle.

  • Whether you’re an artist, a founder, running a small business, or an individual wanting to be more in control of your finances, budgets and cashflows can feel loaded and intimidating. However, they also hold the key to financial sustainability and smart planning. In this workshop, participants will learn how to create a basic personal or organizational budget and cash flow, as well as smaller project-specific budgets.

Leaning in to embodied holistic business practice, we’ll address our spreadsheet and financial fears in order to master a basic budgeting practice, and feel clear, empowered, and in control of financial futures. Treating budgeting as an improvisatory practice, we’ll address misconceptions about how budgets should serve our planning process, and create a practice that we can feel good about—clear, informative, and free of budget fear!

  • Got a great idea, but no way to fund it? This workshop takes participants through different ways to think about fundraising, offering a range of different models and approaches to start from scratch and build support into sustained, substantial income.

In this workshop we’ll cover a range of fundraising options: “friends and family” support, annual campaigns and ask letters, crowdfunding, merch and product creation, giving circles, advisory boards, and more. Whether you’re putting together your first project that needs funding support or feel like you’ve exhausted every trick in the book, this workshop offers ways to think about income generation, not just as a means to make money, but as a way to identify and facilitate long-term connections and support.

Over the course of this 2-hour workshop, participants will receive resources around each type of fundraising model, brainstorm “outside the box” options as a group, and share and receive feebdack on initial outlines of fundraising plans.

  • How can we use pleasure to guide our working processes and productivity? Beyond the basic bribing ourselves for tasks completed, how can we look to an embodied, pleasure-driven workflow to learn about what brings out our creative and administrative best?

In this workshop, participants will be led through a guided self assessment to learn how pleasure shows up (and hides away) in their work. After tuning in to their somatic relationships to their work, attendees will get to experiment with a range of different techniques that can invite pleasure, ease, and joy into their working processes, creating a more present and sustainable workflow.
